SHIP LOADING SYSTEM

For one of our customers in southern Germany we have implemented a fully automatic ship loading system for grain. The ship loading system, which is over 35 meters long, 17 meters high and weighs around 60 tons, consists of a rotating loading bridge, several trough chain conveyors (TKF 800) and a 30 meter long, movable and telescopic trough conveyor belt for horizontal transport. The bridge is equipped with an additional support beam directly on the quay wall for an increased range. In addition, the support beam can be moved horizontally on a travel path spanning almost 180 °. In the interplay of both factors, large areas of the hold of a cargo ship can be reached without the ship having to change its position. This is usually necessary so that the bulk goods are evenly distributed in the hold and the ship can maintain its stable position in the water. We were also able to reduce dust emissions during loading by up to 95%. This is made possible by a fully automatic loading bellows, which is positioned at a minimal distance above the unloading point in the ship and, thanks to laser sensors, automatically rises with the fill level.
